The market for dried vegetables is decreasing according to the management. Also the company could not make a profit on meat products. Increasing energy costs were the final stroke for the company and the management sees no other solution then to close it down.
Over two years ago the company reorganised. At that time 47 of the 111 jobs were lost. Kerry, that dries vegetables and meat which it delivers to soup and sauces manufacturers experienced heavily competition of Asian companies and changing customer needs.
