31-10-2007 - Twence has plans for a bio-energy park

Garbage processor Twence has elaborate plans to open a bio-energy park at the Boeldershoek. Companies and research institutes can set up pilot plans for gaining energy form biomass garbage.

Twence launched the plan yesterday at the company fair of ‘Powered by Twente’. According to G. Dijkman, head strategy and policy at Twence, many organisations have a need for this kind of area, where supply of biomass is guaranteed and where licences are easy accessible via a covering licence. Twence will also take care of the delivery of electricity and gas. This way the pilot plants can really imitate the reality of a bio energy plant. There is room for five pilots on a total of five hectare.
