As from this week, the company Verilabs is authorized to perform forensic research, research on the tracks left behind at crime scenes. This will be the first competitor for the NFI, the Dutch Forensic Institute, that had a monopoly position for a decade.

Verilabs works in close corporation with the international company LGC Forensics. Verilabs can perform the same forensic research that is now performed by the NFI. Not only DNA analysis, but also analysis of fabrics, digital or biological tracks or for example ballistic research.

Verilabs received a permit of the Dutch government to operate in the Netherlands last week.
