30 percent of all Dutch employees is looking for another job. Recently the CBS announced that the number of job seekers has decreased to 400.000 while there are about 1 million vacancies. That is why organisations should not only open the front door but also close the back door, concludes research agency Effectory.
Recent number of their National Satisfaction index shows that the intention to quit strongly connects with their labour satisfaction. Of all dissatisfied people 62.2 percent is looking for a job at a new employer.
Now more chances arise at the labour market, good employees feel stronger about themselves and start to apply for another job. “Companies should especially focus on this group of high opportunity staff members, to preserve them for the organisation,” says Marc Sijtstra, director of Effectory. “If we have learned anything these last years, is that it benefits to motivate employees, as well as preserving them as well as attracting new employees. According to a rough estimation an average company with 1,000 employees will save yearly 1 million euro if it keeps these employees satisfied. All other positive effects, like higher productivity and higher customer satisfaction, are not considered in this number.”
